Deep cleaning and Root planning is a procedure of dentistry which involves in getting rid of the tartar that adheres to your teeth. Both are effective treatments for periodontitis (advanced gum disease). They can preserve gum tissue, teeth, and bone. Deep cleaning procedure eliminates the hardened minerals from the tooth surface that is affected is visible when you smile. It removes tarter from the root of the teeth below your gum line. Treatments called crowns or caps are used for broken teeth. They may be of gold, silver, porcelain, or stainless steel. They don’t last long; it has to be replaced. This treatment takes 4 sittings. Surgical treatments for periodontitis are Bone grafting, Flap surgery and soft tissue grafting. During recovery you may experience swollen gums and teeth sensitivity. Strictly follow the instructions of your Dentist.
The best thing is to take care of your teeth by brushing your teeth after meals, flossing and regular dental checkups.
